NEWS: At the end of this season, our Director, Kevan Kosobayashi, will be retiring from the Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra. We are deeply grateful for his artistic leadership and the care he has shown our students. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, we celebrate his contributions and wish him every success in his next chapter. -- We are pleased to share that Devin Godzicki will step into the role of Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra Director beginning with auditions this spring. Devin brings more than 14 years of experience as a music educator. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Illinois State University. She currently teaches orchestra and guitar at James B. Conant High School and works with students across a wide range of skill levels and backgrounds.
Winter/Spring Rehearsals: Sundays, 5:15 - 7:45 p.m.
(5:15 - 6pm with Concert Orchestra)
Spring Concert - Saturday, May 3 at 7pm
PLEASE NOTE:
- All SYO members participate in their school orchestra or band programs where available.
- Orchestra placement is at the discretion of the directors.
SYSO Tuition
- Tuition for the 2026-27 season is $500.
- Tuition includes a $25 family donation to Prairie Center Arts Foundation (only one donation per family).
- Families with more than one child enrolled in the program receive a $25 discount for each additional child after one child is paid in full.
- Installment plans, Financial Assistance, and Scholarships available.
- All members receive an SYO t-shirt.
