Our advanced orchestra.

NEWS: This season will be a Season of Collaboration between the Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) and the Schaumburg Youth Concert Orchestra (SYCO)! This collaboration will give our students the benefit of:

  • Playing exciting and challenging repertoire in a larger ensemble
  • Learning from two directors
  • Building connections across both orchestras

Each orchestra will still have its own material as well as some shared repertoire.

Winter/Spring Rehearsals: Sundays, 5:15 - 7:45 p.m. beginning January 4
(5:15 - 6pm with Concert Orchestra)

2025-26 Concerts: 
Choral Masterworks Concert - Sunday, October 26 at 7pm
Presto! Holiday Concert - Saturday, December 20 at 1pm & 5pm
Spring Concert - Saturday, May 3 at 7pm

Auditions: Spring audition information coming soon. 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All SYO members participate in their school orchestra or band programs where available.
  • Orchestra placement is at the discretion of the directors.

SYSO Tuition for 2025/26 Season:

  • Tuition for 2025-26 is $500 -- the lowest in the area!
  • Tuition includes a $25 family donation to Prairie Center Arts Foundation (only one donation per family). 
  • Families with more than one child enrolled in the program receive a $25 discount for each additional child after one child is paid in full.
  • Installment plans, Financial Assistance, and Scholarships available.
  • All members receive an SYO t-shirt.
